Let's walk on the streets of Iwami-Ginzan Silver mine and Omori

Iwami-Ginzan Silver mine that was discovered at the end of Kamakura
period produced a large amount of silver. the Moris and the Amagos
competed for it repeatedly in The Age of Civil Wars. In the Edo
period, it is governed directly by Tokugawa to support his finance.
Now it has mineshafts and old street scenes in Omori remind its
prosperity. Mt. Sanbe has the unique shape consisting of four
protuberant lava domes. It is a representative mountain in the
Chugoku region. The campsites and hot springs are scattered on
its foot.

The castle town facing the bay is the original place of Iwami
Kagura
This town was developed as a center of Iwami region and a castle
town of Hamada Castle that was built in the Edo period. The castle
ruin with stonewalls is organized as a park now. In the Iwami
Seaside Park across Goutsu city, the bathing beach and camp sites
are organized in Tatamigaura with scenic beauty, and Shimane
Aquarium "AQUAS" is popular. It is also a center of place where
Iwami Kagura is regularly played.
