Kurayoshi was the once-flourishing castle town as a center of Hokinokuni.
Old sake breweries and soy source stores stand along the small river at the foot of Mt. Utsubuki in which the castle was built. Around Kurayoshi, Togo hot spring, at the side of Togo Lake, Hawai hot spring known for “Hawaii in Sanin”, Misasa hot spring which is rich in radon in the world and Sekigane hot spring which is famous for water-clear hot water called “platinum water”.

Mt. Mitoku Sanbutsuji Temple Nageiredo Akagawara / Shirakabe-dozo district Enchoen (Chinese Garden)
A penetralia “Nageiredo” of Sanbutsuji Temple in Mt. Mitoku is said that En-no gyoja installed this penetralia into the grotto by his psychic powers and was established in the late in Heian period. It is known as the oldest main shrine-style building of existing. The entire premises in Sanbutsuji Temple is designated in the national historical places and historical sites as a mountain Buddhism ruin. Now they are campaigning for registration for the world's cultural and natural heritage.
Shirakabe-dozo (storehouses with white walls) standing along the Tama River at the base of the symbol of Kurayoshi, Mt. Utsubuki (Utsubuki Park) were built in Edo and Meiji era. The district around Shirakabe-dozo is selected as the district to preserve the oldest important and traditional Japanese houses nationally. Streets including the stone bridge built across Tama River, red bricks and white plaster walls keep the old-timely atmosphere in Japan.
Enchoen built as a symbol of friendship between Hebei, China and Tottori Prefecture in 1995 is a Chinese garden, which the line of Chinese Emperors loved and made in the royal garden and forest style. Enchoen is a full-scale Chinese garden because its design, procurement and processing were performed in China. Building were assembled temporarily in China, disassembled and then reassembled here under the command of Chinese engineers. Over 2000 paintings hanged in this building were drawn by Chinese artists. All of goods including buildings of Enchoen were really truly made in China.

On the back of greens of the mountain, there are hot spring streets on both sides of the pure stream Santoku River where the fireflies fly and kajika frogs make a sound. These streets have the appearances in the daylight and night with hot spring atmosphere. When the lanterns on the Misasa Bridge light up, the sound of wooden clogs can be heard and the special Kawara Bath becomes crowded with people. One of characteristics of Misasa Hot springs is the good quality of hot spring. This hot spring includes a great deal of radon. You can soak in, breathe the air of and drink this world-class radioactive spring. Also you can have a pleasant texture after soaking in the all-purpose hot spring.
Found about 1250 years ago. Clear, tasteless, odorless and colorless hot spring. Its clearness is unlike any other in Japan. In the Hoki folk tale, the hot spring was described as “Gin-yu” (Silver hot spring) because its water is very clear. It is also called “Shirogane-no-yu” (Platinum hot spring). This hot spring has a legend that a damaged crane told it.
Surrounded with the beautiful nature and blessed with a plenty of water and good quality of water. You can enjoy the seasonal appearances in Togo Lake and try various foot baths known as names of Gods of good fortune: Fukurokuju (God of health and long life) hot spring, Ebisu (God of flourishing business) hot spring, Jurojin (mountain hermit and enjoying in the land of happiness) hot spring and Benzaiten (God of waka poems and music) hot spring.
