Ube, a small town in the southern part of Yamaguchi prefecture, provides several cultural and scenic attractions for tourists. The all-around leisure land park known as 'Tokiwa Park' is located at Lake Tokiwa. The park is set in a large area and filled with greenery, sculptures and seasonal flowers - 3,000 cherry blossom trees in spring, irises in early summer and chrysanthemums in autumn. The park's graceful swans and pelicans add to its charm. The amusement section provides various exciting rides, and there are game facilities and a small zoo. Tokiwa Park also includes other facilities such as Tropical Plant House and a Coal-Mining History Museum.
There is also a vast camping area that is well equipped with flush toilets, cooking equipment and other facilities, and provides visitors with comfortable outdoor leisure opportunities.
Kiwa La Beach - A beach leisure facility modeled along the lines of Mediterranean Sea resorts. The place is fully equipped with convenient facilities such as wooden cabins and a camping site while the calm sea and the beach slope gently away from the water's edge to create a perfect beach for bathing and seashell digging. It's a mere 10-minute walk from the JR Kiwa Station. |
